Planning Meetings
Riverhead Parish Council is consulted by Sevenoaks District Council about all planning applications in the Parish. Applications are considered by the Planning Committee, which meets on the first and third Monday of every month (subject to there being planning applications requiring consideration). A notice giving the time (usually around 7pm) , date and agenda for these meetings (which are open to the public) is posted on the Parish Council noticeboards at least three days before and can be found on the current agenda page.
The Planning Committee sends its views to the District Council where they are taken into account by the Planning Officer in making a decision. Some applications are referred to the SDC’s Development Control Committee for a decision, particularly when the views of the Parish Council are strongly at variance with those of the Planning Officer.
Riverhead Parish Council receives a share of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) collected on some developments in Riverhead by Sevenoaks District Council. An annual report on CIL can be seen on the Annual Returns and Council spending page.
